Sharpie Art Pajama Shirts

Homemade Christmas Series

DIY Mr. Right ~ Mrs. Always Right
T-shirts

I only had enough matching materiel to make my kids' pajama pants last year. With my lack of proper planning I ran out of time and thought my husband and I would just have to go without anything new to open on Christmas Eve.

Then I remembered a project I was planning on doing for my husband that I never got around to- His and Her Pillow cases. I decided to use the same idea on pajama T-shirts instead.

Did you know you can write on fabric with Sharpie markers!?

Whoever came up with this is brilliant! I was worried they'd bleed or eventually fade and wash out, but they look just as good today as they did last Christmas Eve!

One tip I have is be sure to put a piece of cardboard or something similar inside the shirt as you're writing. It makes the fabric more sturdy, helps your marker stay just where you want it and ensures no accidental bleeding through if your fabric is especially thin.

My husband's reaction as we all opened up our traditional Christmas Eve pajamas was priceless! He ripped into his gift first, held his shirt up really high and said, "That's what I'm talking about!" He of course had no idea about my shirt. So then I stood up on the chair, making my shirt taller than his and said in my best Gru from Dispicable Me voice,

"That's what I'M Talking about!!"

My husband just about died laughing! He got such a kick out of our shirts because they describe our relationship perfectly!

Perfect way to start a perfect Christmas!!
