Easiest furniture makeover

Use a hot glue gun to get the best creases in your next chair recover!

When we had our first baby we made a lot of silly purchases that were completely unnecessary. One of the worst was a fancy crib set. It came with a gorgeous comforter that I was too afraid to let go near her and her explosive diapers, a cute fluffy bumper that I never fastened to the crib because I was scared out of my mind about SIDS, and a plain sheet. At least we got good use out of that $80 sheet. 
We did have one good purchase- a $20 rocker glider from Good Will. It was a nasty country blue color and badly stained. But I found some neutral upholstery fabric at Walmart on clearance that worked great with our ridiculously expensive sheet. 

As I started the project I realized that getting the perfectly pleated and creased chair back was harder than I thought. I tucked the fabric in and it kept coming back out. My glue gun is my best friend and it's pretty much always out so I gave it a try. The fabric stayed perfectly in place and allowed me to tug and pull as tight as I wanted to finish the rest of the chair. I was worried about the hot glue not lasting forever, but I figured I could always just do it again. Happily it's bee 8 years and I haven't had to touch it since!

I'm glad I picked a neutral fabric instead of a filly pink one- I'm sure my 3 younger sons agree!
